JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Role
The role will be a ‘technical scouter’ to screen and evaluate “new” product and material technologies or platforms. The focus will be to evaluate the feasibility of the exploratory projects with the external research collaboration partners (eg Battelle, licensing associates etc) and establish plan for implementation in gloves manufacturing and new product development. She/He will work closely with US R&D advanced technology group for technology transfer, development and work closely Product R&D, Equipment Engineering team for advanced technology realization.
Know-How Requirements1. Possess a Tertiary Degree – B.Sc / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Polymer Technology or equivalent. Ph.D would be an added advantage.
2. More than 8 years of working experience in research environment of medical devices.
3. Superior technology scoping, research competency and project management skills.
4. Creative, innovative and passionate on new technology materialization.
5. Effective communication and presentation skills.
6. Sound literature survey and patent reading prowess for IP generation.
Specific Responsibilities1. Evaluate feasibility of exploratory/technological projects with the external research collaboration partners (eg Battelle) and licensing associates, establish technology roadmap for implementation in gloves manufacturing and new product development.
2. Develop Intellectual Property (IP)/patents and preparation of relevant documentation.
3. Work closely and be the local technical interface with US R&D advanced technology group for technology transfer, development and realization.
4. Assist and support his Director to manage / lead in R&D related project/initiatives.
5. Work with local universities, Rubber Research Institute and other external partners on technologies and engineering that compliment R&D work.
6. Provide effective project management to ensure appropriate procedures of design controls of new products are followed.
7. Coordinate with various parties including contract manufacturer to execute activities of the assigned projects.
8. Execute laboratory studies and production trial runs to prove out new technologies.
9. Performed technology validation and work with Products R&D group for new material technology realization.
