JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Manages the direction and coordination of all production operations: which includes the following work centers/departments, CNC Turret/Press, Deburring/Grinding, Press Brake, Tapping/Machining/Second Operations, Welding, Hardware, and Paint Shop, either through subordinate supervisors or direct supervision. It also includes the overseeing of the Maintenance & Facility department.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to all Company Policy & Procedures and Department Procedures.
• Responsible for the direct management of the supervisors and employees the department.
• Organizes workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Monitors production to resolve issues.
• Makes a plan for the month to include, but not limited to, work schedules, list of supplies needed, team meetings, and safety awareness.
• Assists Supervisors in making decisions for their area.
• Keeps daily and/or monthly records pertaining to production activities (labor efficiency).
• Responsible for the total quality output for the department (quality plans).
• Maintains an environment that promotes a team atmosphere.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Responsible for scheduling and maintaining on-time delivery goals.
• Will help develop and work within the budget confines.
• Keeps accurate performance records on department employees.
• Operates within the quality manual, employee handbook, procedures and work instructions of the company.
• To train employees per department training matrix and appropriate procedures.
• To perform yearly employee performance reviews.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and development of all staff members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field 
• Proven work experience as a Manufacturing/Production or Operation Manager or a similar role.
• High preference for work experience in the metal sheet or metal fabrication industry. 
• Preference from Precision Sheetmetal Industry.
• Good work knowledge in Lean management.
• Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
• Math skills, including calculus and other advanced mathematics for developing new processes and control.
• Sound understanding of GD&T, PFMEA and problem-solving skills. 
• Familiar with office software. 
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Independent, self-driven and results-oriented. 
• Familiar with Excel and PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning 
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, Mandarin and Malay. 
• Detail-focused good sense of responsibility, and work proactively.
• Ability to assign responsibilities to others as required and prioritize tasks.
• Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in major problems.
• Able to work under pressure.
