Technical Consultant, Information Management Solutions

Job Purpose

The primary role of the Technical Consultant for Information Management Solutions – Asia Pacific (TCIMS-AP) will be to plan, create, develop, and deliver business case demonstrations for OUR CLIENT Enterprise Solutions for the Asian-Pacific market. In addition, special demonstrations outside defined standard business cases will be required as a matter of course. Develop and champion solution architectural reference models that are applicable to the Engineering, Procurement and Construction and the Plant Owner/Operator markets in energy, oils and gas, power, and the other markets of interest to ensure maximum penetration and growth of OUR CLIENT solutions across the North American region. Work directly with the client team in defining the initial solutions using OUR CLIENT and other technology offerings and work with solutions delivery group to ensure a seamless handover to Scope of Work.  Provide support to the wider organization to grow the targeted Enterprise Solutions line of business.

Dimensions

This role is part of a small team where you will work closely with, AP-sales, business strategy, global consultants and the Enterprise Solutions delivery organization to drive new business. This job requires the ability to work with the client to collaboratively build solution models that will see sustainable growth for OUR CLIENT and deliver high, clearly identifiable and repeatable business value to the client.It is an expectation that travel to clients, partners, prospects, OUR CLIENT offices etc. (including overseas and sometimes at short notice) will be a normal requirement of successfully executing this role.

Principal Accountabilities

  To demonstrate the value of enterprise architectural solutions to support revenue growth within the Enterprise Solutions line of business in Asia Pacific

  Assist the team in the specification and development and marketing approach to the industries we serve drawing on industry knowledge, experience, business acumen and market research.

  Assist the sales team by answering the technical parts of Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal.

  Communicate the value proposition of our solutions to the sales team, targeted customers, workshops, industry events, and seminars.

  Demonstration of OUR CLIENT Enterprise Solutions to the sales team, targeted customers, workshops, industry events, and seminars.

  Document activity in OUR CLIENT Corporate CRM system

Important Working Relationships

In addition to maintaining strong working relationships with sales, marketing, and Global Business Consultants, the Technical Consultant will maintain a close working relationship with the Enterprise Solutions delivery organization to ensure accurate communication of project requirements and client expectations. The role will require the ability to work with clients and partners at a senior level building architectural reference models to further develop OUR CLIENT’s penetration into the targeted Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and plant owner operator (O/O) industry sectors.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region and abroad to perform consultancy tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs/problems of prospective customers with little guidance.
  • The ability to effectively manage and handle multiple and possibly competing commitments simultaneously.
  • Proven customer-facing skills and the ability to present complex technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience with technical proposals and the creation of proof of concept demonstrations
  • High level of expertise with the tools required to fulfil the obligations of the specific assignment.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proven 4 years or more experience of OUR CLIENT products or similar technologies.
  • Proven 7 years or more experience and knowledge of the plant or Marine engineering, design, procurement and construction business either from an owner-operator or an engineering contractor background.
  • Technically competent in the understanding of various software packages used in the Industry such as, Document managements systems, CAD packages, engineering software and content management systems.
  • Experience with IT solutions and the business processes associated with EPC’s and/or OO’s, and likely to have worked for an IT solutions provider, EPC, OO, or technology consultancy. 
  • A good understanding of system integration related to applications used in these industries.
  • Some understanding of the elements of complete project lifecycle management.
