JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
(A) COST-DOWN PROGRAM
1. To identify, develop and execute an action plan to meet the annual cost-down target.
2. To initiate cost-down projects triggered by material cost reduction, design improvement, process and etc.
3. To study market conditions, trends or issues for different materials.
4. To prepare the monthly cost-saving report for management review.
(B) PROCUREMENT PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Understand the requirements for product development from R&D & sales.
2. Source the material according to the specification and drawing.
3. Monitor and update the progress to meet the dateline set by management.
(C) VENDOR SELECTION AND SUPPLIER RELATION MANAGEMENT
1. Identification and selection of vendors with favourable terms of better quality, cost, delivery, service and payment terms.
2. Work together with Purchasing and QA on supplier performance evaluation to understand supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, and service for the approved vendors.
3. Manage and improve supplier performance of quality, cost, delivery and service through supplier audits.
(D) MATERIAL MASTER DATA MANAGEMENT
1. Review and maintain info record & standard cost for direct material.
2. Material master data included price, lead time, MOQ/SPQ, Tax code, HS code, SST/MIDA exemption no.
(E) DEVELOP PROCUREMENT MEMBERS
1. Develop, train & coach procurement members.
(F) OTHER RELATED TASKS
1. To perform other tasks that contribute to the smooth daily operation.
2. To perform all administration and additional jobs assigned by the superior or Management
3. Support company certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO14001 and work actively to improve those areas.
4. To be responsible for maintaining good housekeeping 5S, proper teamwork and coordination between all other departments in achieving compliance with the company’s Quality, Environmental & Occupational, Health & Safety Management System.
