JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

Responsible for the preparation of the company’s accounts and assisting the Head of Finance with commercial analysis, margin analysis and cost control. Reporting to the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Production of the monthly management accounts and presentation to the Head of Finance and Group Finance Director.
  • Production of the monthly margin analysis and sales reports for distribution to the MD and Sales Team.
  • Analyse and review overhead P&L for presentation and challenge at monthly meetings with Department Heads.
  • Reviewing month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review of those performed by the Finance Assistant.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with cash flow and stock forecasting.
  • Working with Operational Managers to ensure inventory counts are taking place with the challenge of any results.
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with controls and process improvements and proactively identifying where these may be made.
  • Involvement in the periodic budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Preparation and submission of annual tax returns and tax estimates.
  • Development of the Assistant Finance Manager and Accounts and Admin Executive.

Requirements

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance & Accounting with Experience in a similar Finance Management role. Experience in Product costing in a production environment is advantageous.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and confidence with complex formulas such as index-match.
  • Strong ERP systems experience and able to implement procedures/processes
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the confidence in challenging methods and ways of working.
  • Good team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
