Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities

Responsible for adhering to the Company’s Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Procedures. Responsible for reporting any non-conforming safety matters immediately to their immediate Managers.

Purpose

This position is responsible for representing the Company as a company that is committed to excellent products and superior customer satisfaction. The overriding objective of the position is to lead the FSQA team to ensure the Company's FSQA culture is embedded throughout the facility, food safety program specifications and product quality of products produced meet required FSQA expectations.

The FSQA Director will also have responsibility for accurately leading the FSQA team in planning organizing and carrying out all projects and assignments in the business and in collaboration with the APAC FSQA Transformation team; resolving all Technical & Regulatory Compliance issues within and in collaboration with the APAC team; sharing best practices, and coordination of tasks with the APAC FSQA Operations Lead.

The position will lead the Business Unit team to action strategic and tactical elements of the APAC and Business Unit FSQA strategy, developing FSQA operational KPI goals and tracking performance. He/She will also lead in developing solutions to customer problems, product changes, clarification of policies, procedures, formulations, and projects and coordinating product complaints investigations in conjunction with the development of preventative plant resolutions.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the execution of APAC FSQA strategies, meeting operational expectations and activities timeframes.
  • Ensures that adherence to all relevant food safety standards, quality expectations and that the required policies and procedures have been adopted in the facility.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, effectiveness and management of all FSQA programs.
  • Identifies potential challenges and problems with operations and assists to develops ways to improve processing.
  • Collaborates with operations and innovation teams activities where necessary ensuring guidance is provided on trials, food safety compliance, quality assessment and shelf-life analysis.
  • Interacts with Commercial and Innovation teams for customer product showings plant tours and audits.
  • Liaising in conjunction with APAC FSQA with regulatory bodies in all areas related to FSQA programs and facility certifications.
  • Manage investigation responses to FSQA related customer / consumer complaints in conjunction with the APAC Commercial FSQA Team.
  • Responsible for the coordination of training, the management and development of FSQA team members and assessment of competency.
  • Ensures all new product FSQA programs include, supplier approval, sanitation and new equipment are in place.
  • Manages and ensures improvements in 1st pass quality, traceability, reduced complaints, Team Member engagement and customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes and implements operational best practices, projects & advancements in conjunction with the APAC FSQA Transformation team.
  • Reviews FSQA operational structure collaborating with APAC FSQA Operations Director and MD to provide a sustainable adequate competent FSQA team.
  • Implements effective brand protection plans from sourcing to delivery.
  • Initiates and expands global standards accreditation for the manufacturing facilities where appropriate.
  • Oversees and monitors real time capture of data, operations FSQA compliance records – RedZone and provides analysis and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversees the laboratory operations and management including goals and directions to meet requirements such as ISO17025 and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
  •  At least 5-7 years working experience in a similar role.
  • Management experience is essential.
  • Experience in export markets and FSQA regulatory compliance management.
  • Protein manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High level of operational / processing understanding within a consumer-driven global organization.
