JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Key Member of the Operations Leadership Team and linked directly with the BU(s) leadership Team. The Site Leader directly leads manufacturing and operations to relentlessly improve through lean as our operational strategy ensuring the site performs at World Class Manufacturing levels as described by the WCM vision. Ensures linkages with all functions and Value Streams at the site. Directly linked to the Company's Vision and Strategy along with understanding the BU(s) needs (What, When) and determining how to make it happen at World Class levels.

Responsibilities

Delivery:

  • Understands the BU(s) Strategy (what, and when) needed and determined the best way to deliver the
  • (how) to make it happen.
  • Works with BUs and Operations Leadership to determine and establishes TN and Lean KPI performance metrics
  • Supports the growth of BUs and Watlow by ensuring operations have the capacity and capability to deliver what is needed when it is needed
  • Lead operations in accordance with business unit goals and overall Watlow strategic directives.
  • Coaching Forward - Create and/or foster a team environment that demonstrates genuine concern for the personal and professional development of all team members, regularly recognizing team members
  • Lead the site’s WCM Site transformation
  • Ensure WC level results are achieved in alignment with overall goals
  • Ensure that the WBS is fully deployed by aggressively ensuring Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean concepts, techniques and the application of lean are fully deployed in manufacturing and manufacturing’s supporting functions
  • Ensure that all quality system policies and procedures are followed and improved where appropriate to
  • insure that all product delivered to the customer meets requirements
  • Ensure the development and deployment of a safe and healthy work environment
  • Ensure effective implementation and utilization of Sales, Operations and Financial Planning (SOFP)
  • Ensure the existence of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) System
  • May participate as an active member of the Business Unit leadership team.
  • Manage community relationships such as city planning, college, and university relations.
  • Integrate needs across spaces, value streams, and functions towards achieving the Company’s vision of a product leadership company

Center of Expertise (COE):

  • Gold certified or equivalent
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt Preferred
  • Lean Accounting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.
  • Technical certification preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Leadership training
  • 15+ years of operations leadership experience with 10+ years in lean leadership experience preferred
