JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Manage the company's R&D Department, in line with the company’s strategies
- Ensure relevant internal and external requirements and regulations are met throughout the development process
- Plan, organize and direct new product/process development projects from initiation to realization in production which include ideation, product trials, actual production monitoring, inter-department communication and meeting customers to understand their requirements
- Propose and plan new ingredients/processes/systems in product development/ improvement to ensure they are applicable and competitive
- Work closely with Finance in providing pricing to customers
- Work together with Marketing on providing the pricing to customers at the best volume
- Manage the process flow from Product Development to Commercialization
- Lead cross-functional teams in the technical aspects of product development through investigation, planning, execution, evaluation of product/process improvement and troubleshooting
- Lead and participate in menu ideation sessions with customers
- Coordinate new product roadshows with customers
- Coach, mentor, motivate and train team members to improve technical and inter-personal skills and to drive team performance
- Manage and review the formulation and processes to achieve competitive advantages
- Ensure product specification, costing and BOM information are correctly documented and updated
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers
- Take care of team members' well-being
- Support the R&D Director with accurate and timely information
- Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Food Science, Food Technology and Culinary Science.
- Preferably with at least 10-15 years of working experience in product/process improvement and food manufacturing environment.
- Progressive experiences that demonstrate mastery of skills and knowledge necessary to perform responsibilities as defined.
- Good written and spoken English & Bahasa Malaysia.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoints etc)
