JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
- The responsibilities of the role include compliance, staffing, administration/payroll, compensation & benefits, employee and labour relations, talent, development, and HR budgeting process in accordance with Group guidelines.
- He/she has to plan, organize and manage all HR activities and supervise the local HR team.

- Plant Manager/Functionally to Group HR
Responsibilities
- Compliance:
- Ensure that the company's practices and employee behaviours are compliant with legal regulations and/or corporate guidelines – employment and labour laws, employment contracts, internal working regulations, and corporate and local policies.
- Employee and Labour Relations:
- Foster positive working relationships with labour unions (manufacturing and office environment);
- Understand, communicate and interpret collective bargaining agreements;
- Lead, in partnership with Plant Manager in all collective bargaining;
- Constantly liaise with Union and Employee representatives concerning Labor, planning and HR related matters;
- Collaborate with the Safety Committee. Provide, share information and deliver actions when needed concerning these bodies;
- Partner with Managers and resolve employee issues and problems as they arise.
- Staffing:
- Define staffing needs and recruit the best adequate candidates thanks to practices & tools – job description, job adverts – internal/external – sourcing & selection methods.
- Budgeting & Planning:
- Define in partnership with local management and labour budgets/costs. Build planning and measurement systems to plan, follow and challenge labour/HR related costs;
- Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs and cost.
- HR Administration & Payroll:
- Handle efficiently (cost/time/availability) all HR administration operations - deliver accurate, reliable and on-time services/information to all employees, managers, and external (administration) related bodies.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Handle our compensations and benefits practices - salaries, bonus, incentives, cars, group general insurances;
- Develop & maintain cost-effective, controlled practices, in line with group guidelines;
- Define policies/tools/systems to align our practices with our business objectives (Salary review practices, bonus systems, benefits policies, job grading, salary/market...).
- Talent & Performance Management:
- Drive and ensure annual appraisal process and targets definition are used properly with a people management mindset and ‘Performance’ focus;
- Support and guide Managers and employees on all talent management matters;
- Lead talent reviews to identify high/young potential and build local development programs;
- Build development plans and deliver adequately locally to guarantee people development/engagement in line with the current/forthcoming business needs.
- Business Partnering:
- Support and partner with the local Management in organisational matters and performance initiatives;
- Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions;
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continuous improvement;
- Facilitate lean initiatives and team development;
- Participate in the development and implementation of plant/department objectives and systems.
- Varia:
- Safety: Promote and support continuous improvement in safety. Track and respond to injury/illness issues;
- Values: Foster the company’s core values and support/develop local relative initiatives;
- Act as a broker of information with external networks (sector, local companies, federations, Unions) to guarantee the company's branding and secure reliable and useful information (salaries, social, community development …);
- Member of the Management Committee of the Factory.
Requirements
- Degree, ideally with an HR specialization;
- 10 years of relevant HR experience in an industrial/logistics environment and/or in the engineering/building materials/technical sector;
- Experience in production units is considered a strong asset;
- Track record in operational all-round HR activities, participation in plant executive committee, and awareness of project management practices;
- Sound knowledge of all HR activities (e.g. staffing, training, talent management, comp & bens, and so on...);
- Strong focus on specific industrial HR activities (work organization, labour costs, safety, social relations).
- Language: English. Any other language is a plus;
- Leadership & people management
- Independent, organized, proactive
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team, work within deadlines
- Be able to multi-task and prioritize work (different projects and technologies)
- Liaison officer and interactions/relations developer
- Well balanced between being structured & organized and intellectually agile & empathic
