JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and management of operational and financial activities that are aligned to meet overall strategic objectives set by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements and external reporting in compliance with accounting standards and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for financial management and to opine on the correctness of the financial statements
  • Convert strategic objectives into actionable plans for performance and growth, and help in implementing and achieving Group-wide goals.
  • Help the Group to navigate through the processes and challenges of strategy development, management, and execution including facilitating the sustainable creation of value to ensure that the Group incorporates economic, environmental, and social factors at all levels of decision making and reporting.
  • Assess and optimize the benefits, and manage the challenges, arising from trends, such as centralization, outsourcing, and offshoring of the finance and accounting (F&A) function, while ensuring that financial talent and capability is retained and groomed within the Group.
  • Ensure the entire Group is attuned to high ethical standards and aligned with the values, goals, and objectives of the Group. Support in setting the tone at the top by displaying and encouraging professionalism and ethical behaviour thus attaining trust among users of the financial reports.
  • Identify, implement and maintain a sound system of internal control and risk management in relation to financial reporting and to report to those charged with governance.

  • Well-versed in Internal Financial Reporting Standards, Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards and Bursa Listing Requirements, the scope of the standards and requirements, and its applications
  • Understand the operations of the Holding company and its subsidiaries, including its associates, and the financial standard that applies to it
  • Demonstrate sound understanding and ability to clearly articulate to the stakeholders, including the Board and its committee, on the application of accounting standards impacting the Group.
