JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Accounting Manager

OBJECTIVE

Support the Chief Accountant as part of the accounting team to provide full accounting support for Our Client businesses in Malaysia and Singapore, delivering the following:-

1. Ensuring the full financial compliance, in line with the group policies for the region

2. Responsible for the financial consolidation, statements and financial internal/external controls of

Our Client’s activities for Malaysia and Singapore

3. Manage administrative systems and procedures in adherence with the local and Our Client Group policies. Work with the Chief Accountant to implement the organization’s financial and tax plans and policies.

The Accounting Manager will assume the above responsibilities for a subset of the legal entities forming the group of entities within the Our Client’s Malaysia and Singapore Group, as deemed appropriate by the Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial & management reports, AP analysis, AR analysis, credit management, working capital and fixed asset management for Our Client business in Malaysia & Singapore.

2. Implement “simplification initiatives” to monitor the workload of accounting department in a growing business environment.

3. Participate in SAP implementation.

4. Involvement in various key activities pertaining to the internal control review and implementation across all functions with the departments.

5. Support finance functions in performing other accounts related functions such as bank reconciliation, GL account analysis, cash flow projection, forecast, month end provisions, month end close and finance related activities.

6. Preparing periodic Management Accounts.

7. Independent, mature, lead and supervise team in all accounts and finance activities.

8. Ensure compliance on matters relating to audit, tax and statutory requirements, including GST

9. Ensuring smooth operation of the MIS & Computerized Accounting System.

10. Liaising with auditors, tax agents, statutory bodies, etc.

11. Undertake assignments delegated by Chief Accountant from time to time.

Required Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree

Required experience:

Years of Experience: 6-8 years’ experience

Sector: Manufacturing, industrial scale and auditing. Shared service background is a plus.

Management: Lead and supervision experience.

Functional Skills/Licences/Certificates

1. Capacity to execute expansion projects in an efficient manner; improve speed and efficiency levels across the Stay-in-Business operation, as well as part of any growth strategy.

2. Capacity to adapt to the constant changes and demands of the market; short and medium visions to stay ahead of competition in all issues associated with the business.

3. Exposure to accounting system implementation at regional scale is a plus. Experience with JDE, ERP or SAP.

4. Member of Chartered Accountants body, min MIA.
