JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:
To support the Channel Manager in executing the channel plan within the assigned segment and channels by ensuring excellent execution of all company activities at the Point of Purchase. To provide full evaluation and feedback to channel managers and the marketing team in relation to the development of future plans.
KEY TASKS:
1. Channel Promotion Management – Develop, Execute, Track & Evaluate
• Build specific customer / channel promotion plan to deliver Channel Strategy that is in line with Brand Strategy and adhering to brand guidelines
• Work with the Sales team by monitoring the sales achievements and ensure that stock allocation is fully taken
• Tracking of promotion execution to ensure excellence in-store execution compliance in order to deliver promotion objectives
• Conduct promotion evaluation for all major channel activities incorporating learning for future improvements
2. Channel Performance Reporting & Analyses
• Prepare and maintain monthly channel sales tracking by brand and by area, and highlights risk to channel manager to ensure achievement of overall channel target
• Assists channel manager, whenever required on Nielsen detailed analysis and customer specific scan data in order to identify specific business development opportunities
• Incorporate insights and data from Dunnhumby or mailer track into promotion plan or post promotion evaluation
3. Market Intelligence Report (Channel specific)
• Conduct monthly trade visits to understand the retail environment, shopper trend, in-store execution and identify opportunities for improvement
• Clear understanding of the operations team function and KPIs
4. Trade Bulletin
• Accountable for ensuring monthly trade bulletins are completed and distributed to Area Sales Office for their monthly Canvass Meeting deployment
5. Channel Administration Support
• Assists channel manager, when required on channel budget deployment and usage tracking, ad-hoc reporting, etc
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
- Education: Diploma / Degree in any field
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Sales planning / Sales Operation / Trade Marketing position preferably in the FMCG sector
- Specialist Knowledge and able to use Cognos, Nielsen Advisor, dunnhumby, Mailer Track
- Required Personal Attributes: Good communication and listening skills, Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, a team player, Self-confident, Detail & Organized, Able to work independently, Analytical
TECHNICAL & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
• Experienced in in-store activation or sales operation
• Creative, analytical and with good presentation skills
• Able to communicate at all level
• Aggressive and results oriented
• Self-initiative and good follow-through
• Strong business acumen will be an added advantage
• Understanding of the category, channel and shopper
Experience:
Min 1 year (Preferably FMCG)
