JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

We are looking for a forward-thinking developer for our Application Development team who will take the lead in the strategising, planning, and execution of the development of our mobile and web application. This role requires you to provide a clear timeline of development for all modules of the application and the web platform.

Tasks also include the development of the server-side logic, the central database. It is also responsible for integrating the front-end elements. A basic understanding of front-end technologies are necessary as well, therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products are essential. A collaborative work style is essential as you will be working closely with our Engineering team, and lead the Development team which is working on different modules.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate the Web and Application development efforts of the company.
• Work with Product Owners to produce fully functional front-end prototype that users can validate.
• Work with the Engineering and Business Development team on concepts and UX/UI designs.
• Implement and deploy back-end applications relying on NodeJS services, relational databases and using infrastructure as code through AWS.
• Strategise, coordinate and work with other Development teams or external vendors on certain development tasks and the development of other modules.
• Participate and assist in all aspects of web-based/database development (from research, conceptualize & design, developing, testing & debugging, deployment & maintenance).
• Identify and evaluate innovative improvement options.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Strategise the update and maintenance of existing website and applications.
• Assist in technical documentation & user training.
• Work collaboratively and proactively to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.
• Keep up to date with the latest web technologies, trends and programming techniques.

Requirements

• Technical Skills:
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Knowledge of mainstream and trending web technologies and UI/UX standards.
• Knowledge and experience in AWS service configuration and deployment.
• Familiarity with cloud messaging and push notifications.
• Experience with server-side or client-side performance and memory tuning with tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Experience with writing and executing automated tests using tools.
• Knowledge in cross-platform mobile app development, Ionic/React Native Framework, is an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience in IoT-related code implementation is an advantage.
• Languages:
• JavaScript, JSON, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, React, Next.js.
• Experience in GIT version control.
• Experience in Web Services, REST, Lambda functions and third-party API integration.
• Academic Qualification :
• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experiences :
• Proactive, analytical thinking, has the initiative to learn and solve problems, independent, self-disciplined, accountable, and creative. The right attitude is the most important factor.
• Excited about the idea of being in a startup, facing the challenges involved, and growing together with the business.
• Good understanding of Internet technology and microservice architecture.
• Working knowledge of the latest web standards, cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsive designs and code.
• Efficient and capable of working within tight deadlines.
