JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Our Client is rebuilding its DCIM software, a critical component that ensures the smooth operation and guarantees the availability of data centre resources.

In this role, you will work closely with teams designing and building systems realizing this vision. You will need to have an exceptional customer focus and an ability to work with stakeholders to build a scalable monitoring system for IoT endpoints such as temperature sensors. You will need to deliver solid, secure, performant codes, contribute to the design of backend APIs and be comfortable diving into IoT, networking and identity/access technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack.
• Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members.
• Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
• Introduce and maintain project management traceability software (JIRA).
• Monitor and control development cycles and issuance of official releases.
• Gather statistics based on JIRA and provide weekly update report.
• Create and maintain documentation of development issue logs and release notes.
• Introduce/maintain testing and automation technologies to the Hawkeye development team.
• Determine the root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
• Attend to or delegate bug fix tasks for operational sites either remote or on-site when necessary. Ensure bugs fixing rate adhere to company’s / customer’s Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
• Attend to meeting requests from management and immediate superior.
• Attend technical meetings requested by superior or customer either online or on-site when necessary.
• Provide necessary technical advice and technology update to the team to aid the development.
• Provide necessary documentation for manual or deployment guideline for every new releases.
• Provide demonstration or training for the newly developed features or software releases.
• Work in close partnership with Hawkeye team, cross-functional teams and management.
• Always adhere to company policies and SOP.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• Familiarity with modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Go, C++, Ruby, Python.
• 2+ years of experience developing object-oriented software and hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between.
• Deep knowledge of professionals of software engineering practices and best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations.
• Experience with cloud and web services technologies (esp.JSON, REST, XML, MQTT, pub/sub, etc.).
• Experience with logging infrastructure and systems or search systems, with AWS services such as CloudWatch, Kinesis, DynamoDB, or with open-source systems such as Kafka, Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or others.
• Experience engineering large scale distributed systems is strongly preferred.
