JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
As a Technical Application Engineer, you enjoy a wide scope of tasks and challenges regarding the provisioning, monitoring and maintenance of applications and infrastructure. The team is responsible for managing a complex, data-centred application landscape.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Application Engineer, you are application-driven. The team is responsible for provisioning applications and making sure they keep performing. In short, you should be able to:
- Take ownership of the full application life cycle management; deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and upgrading.
- Build and maintain the needed toolset and platforms required to do the deployment, alerting, monitoring and logging of the application environment.
- Monitor technical KPIs and ensure action plans are in place for constant improvement.
- Proactively anticipate technical impediments that arise.
- Remedy any technical incidents that occur.
- Execute & guide root cause analysis of incidents.
- Collaborate with other technical teams like Professional Services Consultants, Software Developers, Architects and Product Owners to improve the service delivery.
- Create documentation with the technical team to increase technical knowledge for customer & suppliers.
- Ensure product testing, security and global compliance requirements are assessed/updated/rolled out.
- Advise our customers in decision making regarding applications life cycle management, rightsizing and future enhancements based on the application’s technical performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree, preferably in IT (e.g. Software or Infrastructure Engineering)
- 5 years of working experience in an IT application landscape
- Engineering experience on Linux and Public Cloud (AWS)
- Experience in automating, managing and running a complex operational environment that emphasizes performance and stability
- Strong troubleshooting experience on system and application level, including performance, integrations and configurations
- Experience with the tools we work with is preferred: Terraform, Ansible
- Experience with database technology, such as MySQL, MariaDB and Couchbase
- Experience in building and managing monitoring, logging and alerting platforms
