JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
As the Mechatronics Engineer, you are one of the "Smart" behind "Smart Insect Farm". You will assist to design, build and plan our automation systems, including the software to control them for your colleagues and for our customers to use.
Responsibilities
- Experience and discover the mechatronics, IoT and automation-related projects and initiatives at Protenga.
- Help develop solutions from design concept to live production across our insect technology spectrum, from large-scale material flow management to delicate computer vision and data-driven control of biological systems and environments.
- Assist in make-or-buy conversations as part of our insect technology product development efforts. You will help to select suitable technologies, suppliers and development partners.
- Be the interface with software and mechanical engineering teams in pursuit of simple, elegant and effective solutions.
- Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Fresh grads are welcomed but should display experience in process automation design and implementation, IOT or similar.
- High-level of curiosity; you think deeply and cross-disciplinary about problems to identify pragmatic and cost-effective automation approaches. You can communicate your thought process, considerations and trade-offs clearly. You will need to learn from the team, for example about biological and zootechnical considerations to develop effective solutions supporting the insect biology.
- You also know how to use your time efficiently and draw on the team or external resources to get work done.
- Experience with various sensors, wired and wireless communication and software interfaces. Experience with both micro-controllers and PLCs.
- Strong attention to detail and high work standards; pro-active and independent thinking and problem-solving competence.
