Established in Penang in 1992 and being part of a Group with a global headquarters in Germany, Our Client is a 3PL service provider which focuses on small- to medium-sized clients, primarily within the automotive, healthcare, FMCG and O&G industries. Our core markets are Europe, China, India, USA and Japan. In these, our are capable to deliver door to door sea- and airfreight solutions. Within Malaysia, we operate 4 offices (PEN/KUL/KLIA/JHB) with own warehouses and total of 50 employees. Same time, we are officially licensed with RMCD and therefore hold our own forwarding license at all ports/airports. This allows us to offer complete 3PL logistics as well as cross-border-clearance, both at Singapore and Thailand.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to: Branch Manager & Head of Sales, Malaysia

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business for the company through identifying and obtaining new small (<100 shipments p.a.) and medium-sized (<300 shipments p.a.) accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality quotations (accuracy)
  • Ensure fast turnaround times of inquiry to quotations (speed)
  • Create reports in CRM for both sales visits and sales calls.
  • Maintain and update the target client database in CRM
  • Attend monthly sales meetings (KUL)
  • Attend quarterly national meetings (PEN, JHB, KUL)

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a BDM within the freight forwarding sector - those from German freight forwarding companies would have added advantage
  • Independent, diligent team player
  • Disciplined, proactive sales hunter
