JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop and build predictive capabilities that get incorporated into the Company’s products.
  • Tight collaboration with the technical team (software engineers and UX designers) to develop and deploy workable products and to ensure business effectiveness via analytics.
  • Experiment with in-house datasets or find new data source to test hypotheses on relevance and value of data to business problems.
  • Build and experiment with different machine learning, statistical, or data mining techniques to build scoring models.
  • Championing the cause of building needed data transformations on either structured and unstructured data.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree required with at least 2 – 3 years of experience in Computer Science,
  • Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or highly quantitative field (or equivalent experience) with strength in Machine Learning, Data Mining, Statistical experience on predictive analytics. Master’s or PhD Degree is an added advantage.
  • Relevant experience in modelling techniques such as logistic regression, Naïve Bayes, SVM, decision trees or neural network techniques.
  • Experience in clustering, regression, applied machine learning and other data mining techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, Java or Scala.
  • Knowledge about big data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark is an additional advantage.
  • Self-motivated, curious and proactive, with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and an innate drive to improve how things work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
