JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Gather, manage and document user requirements and transform requirement into technical specification documentation with flows (where applicable) working closely with functional team or independently, mostly to fulfil ABAP reporting, automation, data analysis, trouble shooting, forms design needs of a Retail business.
• Follow the SAP Methodology to implement, document and perform necessary Testing, simulation etc depending on the scale of enhancement requested; fulfil large/small scale Project Management process, Change Management process and Problem Management process.
• Perform ABAP programming and coding with timeliness and accuracy in mind. Ensure meet the objective and requirement N2N, meet the timeline, code optimize, accurate, within SLA, robust design with exception handling, where applicable.
• Perform ABAP programming in the area of:

A) Generation of classical, interactive, ALV reporting,

B) Data Dictionary

C) Modify SAP standard program using the allowable and standard enhancement framework; User Exit, BADI, BAPI etc

D) Conversion and automation of data download and upload using ABAP, LSMW, direct table query, ABAP query, etc

E) Dialog programming, system interfaces

F) Cross Application and direct input; ALE, IDOC, BDC, RFC call

G) Scripts and Smartforms

H) Workflow enablement within and with external third party for notification and alert

I) Diagnose and resolve ABAP dump or errors in all the 3 instances; DEV, QAS and PRD system.

• Proactively provide input and recommend areas of improvement thru programming enhancement and/or automation for stabilization of prove system processes and user system experience.
• Provide solution based on best practice and advise functional team and business of the overall process change in flow and the benefits.
• Hands-on experience in coding for multiple modules within SAP, application of SAP notes and patches, use of diagnosis, debugging, extraction and reporting tool of SAP etc.
• Document and obtain signoff prior to confirmation of requirement and release to production.
• When required, conduct N2N Testing which involves Unit Test, System Integration Test, User Acceptance Test, Load Test and Rehearsal Test.
• When required, document and conduct Training to business users and internal team, create/update user manual, prepare data for training environment and ensure level of understanding.
• Perform post implementation and stabilization of the implemented solution or report, which includes data accuracy, problem fixes and identification of root cause analysis for a permanent fix.
• Ensure compliance in all internal and external dealings with internal users, partners and regulators.
• Guide and share subject matter as SME and programming skill and knowledge to internal team.
• Provide progress updates, data extraction and slide for supervisor and management to review outcome and for presentation.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent.
• Knowledge of system development life cycle, preferably SAP implementation methodology (ASAP).
• Minimum of 5 years working experience with specialization in the ABAP Programming of multiple modules within SAP.
• Possess business/functional exposure to proactively provide solution and specification in retrieving the right data for the analysis and meeting reporting requirement from business.
• Good trouble shooting experience in the areas of programming.
• Excellent in Microsoft Excel for further data massaging.
• Preferably, experience in supporting Retail industry.
• Good development, analytical and trouble shooting skills.
• Excellent documentation, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Independent, proactive, optimistic and self-motivated.
• Pleasant personality and able to work closely with the functional team and business users.
• Certification of ABAP Programming is required (full certification and/or training certificates).
