JOB DESCRIPTION
Principal Accountabilities
- Conduct project quality planning by consolidating customer quality requirements and internal project information, and defining applicable standards and samples.
- Develop and review project-related quality documents, such as FMEA, Control Plan (CP), SIP, QC Plan, PQP, and APQP.
- Track the completion status of quality tasks from NPI to MP phases, and drive issue analysis, corrective actions, and closure.
- Monitor and review product yield, drive defect analysis and improvement actions to enhance yield performance.
- Lead customer quality meetings, review external quality documents and analysis/improvement reports, and serve as the communication bridge between customers and internal teams.
- Perform risk analysis and data analysis, implement preventive improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective cross-functional communication and collaboration to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare for and respond to customer and third-party audits, and follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.
- Lead large-scale quality improvement projects, such as CIP and QCC initiatives.
- Coach and develop assistant engineers, engineers, and IPQC/OQC personnel to enhance overall team capability.
Job Requirements
Education
College degree or above; major not limited, with preference given to science and engineering disciplines; English proficiency equivalent to CET-4 or above.
Working Experience
- More than 8 years of working experience, including at least 5 years of product quality management experience in precision component manufacturing and finished product manufacturing industries such as consumer electronics, communication electronics, or automotive components, with hands-on NPI experience.
- Experience working on products or projects for major Western customers such as Apple, Google, Amazon, or Meta is preferred.
- Experience in quality management system setup is required; candidates with people management experience are preferred.
Language Requirements
English can be used as a working language, with proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Competency Requirements
- Familiar with SMT and FATP processes.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes of the relevant industry or products, as well as end-to-end quality control from IQC to OQC and from pilot run to mass production.
- Familiar with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, TL9000, IATF 16949, and ISO 13485, as well as relevant industry standards.
- Familiar with and able to apply the seven basic QC tools and the five core quality management tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Possess extensive experience in failure analysis and improvement methodologies (DOE, FACA, 5 Why, 8D, etc.), with the ability to resolve complex quality issues.
- Have led medium- to large-scale continuous improvement projects (CIP, QCC, DMAIC, etc.).
- Proficient in using SPC and MSA analysis tools (CP, CPK, GRR, ARR, Kappa, etc.); experience with Minitab or JMP is preferred.
- Familiar with Six Sigma theory and practical application; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification is preferred.
