JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Asia Pacific Supply Planner is responsible for near-term production planning and inventory management for all products manufactured and distributed in Asia.  The primary focus is on supply planning for the two production lines at the Kuantan Insoluble Sulfur manufacturing facility. Planning involves a variety of tools including Excel, SAP S4, and other software. The position leverages chemical product knowledge and commercial insight in support of the business.

This job will be based in Kuantan, Malaysia and reports to a Supply Chain Manager, Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

  • Develop near-term supply and production plans (0-4 months) based on demand forecast, customer orders, and manufacturing constraints, while executing to target inventory levels. 
  • Manage site scheduling via SAP S4 and Excel, and effectively communicate the plan with stakeholders.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional Operations Execution Meetings, and report to the management team.
  • Ensure strategic customers are supplied on time in full (OTIF).  Manage allocation plan.
  • Maximize value through a focus on inventory control, manufacturing efficiencies, raw material management, and distribution cost reduction.
  • Support the implementation of a new S&OP process. 
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure raw materials are available to support the production plan while optimizing stock levels to manage costs.
  • Manage cross-regional stock transport orders for inbound finished goods from other company sites.
  • Model "what-if" scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on supply/demand conditions.
  • Maintain and update S&OP metrics (ie – inventory, production, raw material purchases, OTIF).
  • Identify and escalate variances from the plan. Manage and resolve variances and exceptions.
  • Interface with Materials Handling, Manufacturing, Logistics, QA, Receiving, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other planning groups.
  • Support the development of new products and qualification of new raw materials.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of key customers and products in the area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of supply chain and/or materials management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical/planning capability.  APICS certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in SAP, and Microsoft applications (especially advanced Excel skills).
  • Experience with planning and scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Fluent in English, and comfortable conducting business in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Adept at conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to drive improvements, make decisions, influence others and seek consensus.
  • Ability to work at the operational/tactical level as well as contribute at the strategic level.
  • Self-starter showing strong initiative and demonstrated team player.
