JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

This is a newly created position within the business unit. The overriding objective of this position is to establish brand-building capabilities to support the company’s aspiration to be a consumer-centric, demand-driven organization.

The position coordinates and supports all branding initiatives for the assigned brand. The incumbent would be accountable for the assigned brands/categories within the company's portfolio. The expectation would be to work in collaboration with both regional and country teams to develop and nurture these brands into market-leading brands in the markets in which we operate.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping up to date with the latest consumer insights, category trends and competitive environment and ensure that this knowledge is cascaded to internal stakeholders to understand demand trends 
  • Assisting Senior Brand Manager in developing & executing marketing activities across the region
  • Working with support functions on market size estimate to determine the size of the prize for each initiative
  • Collaborate with Innovation & R&D teams on product development based on consumer insights
  • Tracking and monitoring the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, taking corrective actions if needed to ensure delivery against set metrics
  • Roll out the campaigns, supervise the execution and ensure brand consistency in collaboration with the Regional Team.
  • Guiding external agencies to deliver against the brand’s objectives
  • Achieves assigned brand’s objectives in line with company’s sales and profit targets
  • Grow market share for assigned brands
  • Achieves strategic branding and marketing objectives defined by management
  • Setting KPIs and budgets for marketing related activities and tracking the performance against targets, making adjustments as needed to ensure delivery of goals
  • Enlists the support of management, subject matter experts, implementation resources and service resources from within the organization or external partners to deliver set objectives.
  • Ensures that all consumer and branding issues requiring senior management involvement are escalated in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business objectives and support other company initiatives, as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of proven marketing experience, preferably within the FMCG. Direct experience in food categories would be an added advantage
  • Has worked in an international matrix organization with experience of interacting at the senior level of large organisations.
  • Experience managing an evolving environment and demonstrated experience in leading change.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to influence key decision-makers
  • Proven track record of organisational and multi-project management skills.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing, proteins industry, sourcing and purchasing is an advantage
  • Ability to apply numerical skills to analyse data, interpret facts and figures presented in the form of statistical tables and diagrams, think critically and check for errors.
  • Working knowledge of core marketing pillars including branding, portfolio & product management, media buying and digital planning
  • Understands best practices in marketing-related fields and requirements to achieve
  • Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
  • Very strong negotiation skills.
  • Very good Project Management skills.
  • Understands and is committed to Quality Systems and Processes.
