JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Finance professional based in Malaysia to provide financial management and leadership support to the Malaysia, Indonesia & Brunei (“the region”) commercial business division and supply business division. You will be reporting directly to Country CFO and working closely with the CEO of the commercial business and Group CFO to ensure a strong finance organization to transform & support their businesses as well as to set up and run an efficient shared service operation.

Responsibilities

  • Market Finance Leadership
    • Identify and drive Finance process management & improvements
    • Identify and execute improvements to the planning and reporting processes
    • Propose and develop new planning solutions
    • Establish structured communications with the corporate and business CEOs
    • Drive quality control of all financial services and deliverables
  • Statutory and Management Reporting
    • Fully responsible for financial and corporate reporting for businesses in Malaysia (includes sales to Brunei) and Indonesia
    • Ensure all consolidation and statutory requirements are met with a deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
    • Advise business ahead of accounting standard changes and guide business in optimising outcome in business decisions considering accounting principles
    • Highly conversant in Malaysia tax regulations and transfer pricing requirements to ensure effective tax planning and tax compliance
    • Responsible for full compliance with corporate finance and other policies
    • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure audit compliance
    • Ensure timely statutory reporting
    • Produce ad-hoc and value-added reporting and analysis to corporate and local CEOs as necessary
  • Business Planning & Plant costing management
    • Responsible for business planning, financial analysis, the budgeting & forecasting process for the commercial markets working closely with the CEO of the commercial business
    • Provide analysis of business performance metrics in P&L and keep track of R&O on balance sheet items
    • Be a Partner to the Plant In regard to its conversion cost and Utilisation.
    • Update, review costing process(s) to ensure its relevancy and cater to business current needs.
    • Follow up with businesses on queries and inconsistencies and establish the facts
    • Carry out ad-hoc reporting on the business to identify key trends in performance, growth, and cost
  • Treasury and other Corporate actions
    • Manage cash and optimise cash management in accordance with corporate guidelines and objectives
    • Monitor and mitigate FX risks including suggesting hedging or other strategies
    • Monitor performance of local investees
    • Assist corporate on ad-hoc projects including and not limited to M&A, real estate or investment transactions
  • Shared Service Setup
    • To reorganise Malaysia Finance teams and structure to set up shared service function for Path to Profitability Project (P2P).
    • To develop and own the route map to effective SSC operation with a clear timeline and KPI
  • Any other reasonable assigned duties from time to time

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business; CFA or CPA highly preferred
  • At least 8 - 10 years of proven regional business partnering experience
  • Leadership capacity to resolve complex problems within a cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational efficiency and financial accounting
  • Mature, independent, credible, confident and very proactive to learn
  • Highly adaptive & with strong business acumen in an extremely fast-paced business
  • Strong Excel & Financial Modeling skills a must; with SAP system skills preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with proven stakeholder management strengths
