JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
As a Technical Operations Engineer (DevOps), you will be responsible for DevOps administration, server/cloud administration, managing deployment, monitoring and support of Java applications. You will be responsible for providing infra support round the clock in order to ensure that that system is up. The role involves working on DevOps tools like Dockers, Maven, Ansible, JMeter etc.
Responsibilities
- Cloud and UNIX Infra administration
- Manage AWS cloud instances of the application
- Manage deployments across all application instances
- Linux System administration and updates
- Automation of administrative tasks like builds, monitoring etc
- Monitor systems for any vulnerabilities, misuse and attacks
- Manage system security, apply policies etc
- Implement efficient infra automation solutions to improve system quality
- Application Support
- Monitor application load and performance.
- Ensure that the application has minimal downtime.
- Handle application outage scenarios
- Work on a rotation basis across various shifts to cover the application support round the clock
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in DevOps administration
- Experience in Linux administration, deployments
- Basic Database experience
- Experience in installation and configuration of the software stack on Linux environment
- Certifications like Linux, AWS, DBA, is a plus
- Highly skilled problem-solving abilities (quantitative, conceptual, analytical)
- Experience in Vendor management
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Depending on the requirements, the role would involve round the clock coverage across 3 different shifts (Morning, Noon, Night). On-call coverage may include support over the weekends.
