The Power Grids business offers power and automation products, systems, service and software solutions across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain. Our Client is looking for a Business Consultant - EAM/ERP who will be a key contributor as an SME in all phases of the project lifecycle. The role is involved in the pre-sales stages with scoping and proposals and contributes to defining, implementing and reviewing/advising solutions at a high level of service quality. The Consultant leads by example in demonstrating the values of PG. The Consultant contributes to RFI/RFP responses and the development of design documents and provides specialist expertise and input to PG proposals. The role works closely with Presales and Sales to meet with customers to position and present Our Client's solution offering. The Consultant also works directly with customers to understand their requirements and applies expertise to shape how services are applied to optimize customer value from the solution offering through advisory services. At the end of a successful sales campaign, the Consultant works with the project team to ensure a clear understanding of the solution as sold. The Consultant will directly contribute to the project by refining and configuring the sold solution design and further guide and assist the customer and project team through a continual review of the solution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/Contribute to activities related to solution technical review, design and development pre and post-sale.
  • Collaborate with PG Product Teams to align customer requirements with current and future solution capabilities.
  • Develop/Contribute to and implement policies, procedures, and solution principles to ensure that the systems support the organization's business requirements and meet the needs of end-users.
  • Lead/Contribute to design sessions in prototyping new systems for enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Manage competing priorities to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Work independently with users to define concepts.
  • Implementation Services (Deploy)
  • Interface/Collaborate with business/customers/partners to understand and document the scope and requirements.
  • Define/Document solution details and describe how these solutions will meet customer needs and interact with other systems.
  • Contribute to the implementation project both as SME and solution configuration specialist through the project phases.
  • Define/Document solution handover and engage with other teams for business continuity.
  • Support the GPG in creating and contributing to implementation toolkits.

Requirements
  • A Bachelors/Master’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a business consultant role within a vendor managed services or consulting service organization focused on providing Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology service experience in customer or vendor organizations.
  • Experience within an asset-intensive industry; specifically, utilities, transportation, public infrastructure preferable. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding mentoring skills and to support peers and colleagues to achieve targeted results.
  • Ability to lead, direct, advise and guide other business and technical staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability and confidence to develop and present to senior audiences.
  • Extensive experience identifying and managing project issues and risks, including mitigation strategies and plans.
  • A demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders who are not directly responsible (customer and PG) to achieve the objectives of the project.
  • An ability to produce documentation and collateral and to develop PG’s excellence in project delivery capability and methodologies.
  • Ability to travel both interstates and internationally as required.
