JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
NFR (Non-Financial Risk) steers the global & holistic governance of Compliance and relevant non-financial risk in the segment Corporate Clients as part of the First Line of Defence, in close cooperation with all three lines of defence.
NFR Kuala Lumpur performs these tasks as part of the global NFR unit on behalf of the Asian Branches Front Office. NFR scope includes responsibility in the areas of business risk strategy, controls, processes and procedures, reporting and monitoring, as well as compliance and regulatory training, IT and communications.
Responsibilities
- Local definition and implementation of global standards as well as local “top-ups” set by NFR within the defined framework.
- Support the Business in the definition of its risk appetite.
- Active involvement in the implementation of NFR-related policies, procedures and processes in 1LoD.
- Acting as local Center of Competence, providing 1st level support within CC for compliance and non-financial risk enquiries.
- Responsibility for the local control framework, reporting and training, including local control governance, risk and control assessments and management information oversight.
- Coordination of all local topics related but not limited to compliance and relevant non-financial risks in cooperation with/on behalf of all three LoDs, NFR departments (and locations), the Delivery Organisation and all Support Functions.
- Delivery of NFR related initiatives across International Corporates Asia locations.
- Responsible for managing relationships with key local and global stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate escalation of material risks through the governance structure where necessary.
- Manage the design and build of detailed action plans in response to regulatory recommendations to deliver CI governance and compliance objectives across CI Asia locations.
- Establish clear ownership of all underlying deliverables and milestones.
- Supervisory control framework strengthening.
- Ad hoc support as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study
- At least 10 years of experience in NFR related topics within a global corporate banking firm at the managerial level, with deep knowledge of certain NFR risk types.
- Corporate client product know-how.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving ability.
