JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
Commodity Strategy Development
- Develop, review and drive category strategies.
- Accountable for supply markets analysis, technology scouting and exploit supply market trends to optimize business benefit.
- Develop, update price roadmaps & saving plan.
- Responsible for analyzing and monitoring the actual execution of the category strategy.
Supply Base Development, Management & Supplier Relationships
- Hands-on and accountable for preparation, conclusion and execution of category strategy/contracts with suppliers in order to cover risks and optimize results of pricing, supply capacity and flexibility, product specifications, quality and reliability levels, settle and justify all commercial and pricing agreements.
- Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.
- Maintain a close relationship with the suppliers' account managers, to ensure proper deployment of requirements at the suppliers and be the focal point for any escalations towards the suppliers. Review and improve the supplier performance (supplier rating) & business reviews with suppliers.
- Ensure early involvement of SCM/SQE and suppliers in product creation processes and facilitate supplier integration to meet order fulfilment processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Report and manage performance measurements and drive improvement projects, to meet stretch business requirements and objectives.
- Develop close relationships with stakeholders to meet key business needs and optimize support for implementation.
- Constantly drive improvement in pricing, saving/avoidance, lead-time, business term & condition, supply risk and other supplier improvements.
- Work closely with SQE and cross-functional team to ensure supplier complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.
- Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.
- Review current processes for procurement and make recommendations where appropriate.
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelor Degree in Material Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. At least 5-7 years of relevant working experience, preferably in hi-tech manufacturing.
- Experience in metal categories: metal strip, stamping, plating, machining, magnet.
- Ability to make good decisions and think strategically.
- Ability to analyze data from tables and figures and recognize connections. Well-developed negotiation and communication skills
- Willing to travel up to 20%
- Fluent in English and Chinese
