Overview

A DevOps Lead Engineer is responsible for automating all the manual tasks for developing and deploying code and data to implement continuous deployment and continuous integration frameworks. The role is also responsible for maintaining the high availability of production and non-production work environment. The DevOps lead oversees a team of technical personnel focused on the wider DevOps topic, including research on emerging technologies in the market, software integration work, software & services consultancy work & engineering tasks for the successful implementation of given project scope. In addition to hiring and training staff and delegating work assignments, the DevOps lead may also collaborate with other colleagues such as the Platform team or Process team to identify and provide joint resolution to issues that need to be prioritized. The role requires someone to be able to evaluate their team's work processes and best practices and implement changes to streamline operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing the needs of the end-users to understand their requirements and goals, aligning these into tangible deliverables to help to achieve their needs using DevOps methodologies of delivery 
• Translate business requirements into technical deliverables 
• Support the pre-sales team in achieving the desired business goals by researching, evaluating, recommending and setup demo solutions for customers 
• Support in the technical project delivery from an advisory standpoint, including troubleshooting issues together with team members where necessary 
• Working together with the relevant project leads to deliver projects against timelines and expected outcomes with the business 
• Creating service goals and operational processes for their team while supporting the existing IT service operations of M9 projects 
• Technology centric – focus on making use of technology to achieve the business outcome and continues to apply technology in 
• Contribute or drive the solution architecture in achieving the desired business goals
• Coach and contribute to the development of the technical delivery team, preparing for regular sharing session to contribute in a knowledge sharing and promoting community across the team 
• Promote development best practices across the team and cultivate it across to our clients as an ingrained culture 
• Conduct research on business, technology, toolsets and market trends to distil the different architecture implementation practices for the company as well as its external client 
• Organize or participate in regular technology sharing or promoting across industry collaboration events to promote M9 technological advances and industry reach. One can choose to participate in creating white papers, articles or publications for industry publications purposes or make presentations on new technology 
• The role will also require the person to be able to create and implement risk mitigation processes and conduct security audits to determine weaknesses in design and practices in our implementation.
