Responsibilities

Overall responsible for managing the Internal Audit function in Sabah (which comprises Internal Audit Lahad Datu and Internal Audit Sandakan) which include the following

• Responsible for conducting risk-based operational, financial and compliance audits based on the annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee
• Plan and execute audit assignments in accordance with the international standards for the professional practice of internal auditing as set out in the IPPF.
• Provide assurance on the governance, risk management and internal control systems and processes
• Provide consulting and advisory services on areas for improvement in business processes and operational efficiencies
• Conduct ad hoc assignments like special reviews and investigations as and when the need arises and/or requested by the management
• Timely quarterly and annual audit reporting to the Group Internal Audit at Head Office.
• Smooth day to day running of the Internal Audit Lahad Datu Office and Internal Audit Sandakan Office.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Audit Committee and/or Head of Group Internal Audit

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy and/or Professional Accounting/Auditing Qualifications. CIA qualification would be desirable.
• Minimum of 15 years internal audit experience preferably in the Plantation Industry (with at least 3 years in the Senior Manager capacity).
• Well versed with the business, internal control and accounting processes of the Oil Palm Plantation Industry. Added advantage if with exposure in SAP ERP system.
• Possess critical thinking and a good analytical mind and is resourceful and solution-oriented
• Possess strong leadership and good interpersonal/communication skills and able to work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willingness to travel and stay in challenging locations/working environments.
