JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Purpose
Oversee all legal aspects of the Organization in matters of advisory, litigations, interpretations of statutes, regulations, practices and precedents in law including at the local level, and is accountable for all secretarial practices in the company. It is also responsible for establishing and maintaining communications with the various agencies, both commercial and governmental, in order to uphold the branding, image and standing of the Organization before the general public.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide legal advisory on contracts & service agreements made on behalf of the Organization so as to mitigate risks
- Liaise, consult or provide inputs to affected parties in the Organization to optimize Organization performance, effectiveness and efficiency
- Develop, implement and enforce legal systems and frameworks to ensure consistency of advice and service in the Organization
- Oversee all legal matters pertaining to asset administration and development, company litigations and industrial relations issues
- Design, develop and execute effective external communication strategies and action plans to reach the target audience by utilizing appropriate communication channels but ensuring good corporate social responsibility
- Accountable for all secretarial matters in the Organization and its subsidiaries in accordance with statutory requirements as well as expectations set by the Board
- Ensure the required competence and skill level of subordinates are developed to ensure operational needs are met
- Ensure department operates within set cost profiles so as to optimize resources

- Constantly be updated in land matters and impact on company assets
- Be business savvy to understand ever-changing implications of business environment on company operations
- Having to meet organizational directives with no precedents or practices to fall back on
