JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
Develops and directs
and coordinates planning, organization and implementation of environmental
health and safety programs to assure that management takes the actions needed
to raise employee awareness regarding Employees Health Safety matters. This
managerial position uses both permanent staff to address the problems of a
segment of a large organization or all of a smaller one. It requires
demonstrated competence as a professional as well as managerial skills.
Responsibilities
- Advises management on government regulation relating to health and safety, and recommends necessary action to attain compliance.
- Identifies and monitors existing and potential health, safety and environmental concerns and recommends priorities for resolution.
- Identifies common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establishes guidelines for protection from the hazards.
- Establishes audits programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations and adequacy relative to local conditions.
- Coordinates necessary resources to implements programs.
- Maintains relationship with regulatory and government agency personnel.
- Monitors periodic HSE performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
- Investigates major accidents or problems areas and recommends future preventive measures.
- Develops HSE training programs.
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or a Professional Degree in related fields and a Green Book registered with DOSH.
- At least 5~8 year(s) of working experience in related fields is required for this field.
- Able to work as well as teams’ activities, document in a concise manner.
- Able to present solutions in written and oral reports.
- Possess excellent spoken and written English with high initiatives and a positive attitude.
- Pleasant attitude and personality and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
