JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

To manage and direct the work and resources required for successful technical implementation

of Electronic Document Management System Projects within specified timescales.

Key Results Areas

1. To lead the implementation of the EDMS projects, including internal and external resources.

2. To manage the EDMS design, testing, implementation and roll-out of the application, ensuring

that relevant supporting documentation is produced.

3. To develop a communications strategy in relation to the EDMS project and to deliver briefings to internal and external stakeholders. Manage the relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that buy-in is sought and retained throughout the project life cycle.

4. To undertake all aspects of project planning and monitor progress to ensure the project plan for EDMS rollout is maintained, quality levels are achieved, correct resource levels area maintained and accurately utilised and the appropriate resolution of issues affecting the success of the project is achieved.

5. To consult with all stakeholders and, take appropriate action to ensure their input is incorporated into the project, reporting to the project board.

6. To ensure the effective deployment and utilisation of other resources allocated to the project in consultation with colleagues in other service areas.

7. To ensure that the projects operate to timescale and within their allocated resources, reporting to the Project Board and key stakeholders. .

8. To establish training needs of users and in conjunction with the Document Services Manager to ensure delivery of appropriate training in the use of EDMS and associated processes.

9. To work with the Information Development Manager to review information management policies and strategies including document retention and records management.

10. To develop and maintain an understanding of service area operations to support electronic document management and related business requirements.

11. Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant professional and technical developments and be responsible for deploying this knowledge to service delivery.
