JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Responsible for the support of all components of the corporate IT infrastructure: data networks, mobility, server environments, storage, backup and recovery operations, email systems, Windows domains, UNIX/Linux environments, internal databases, infrastructure security, power management systems, Azure VM and any other core infrastructure system. This position’s responsibilities include working directly with Network and System Engineer, planning, strategic technology, project management and execution.
The support of these technologies is expected to be provided to all company facilities worldwide. This requires the System Administrator to have strong communication skills across international boundaries and a willingness to provide emergency support 24x7x365 along with occasional on-call responsibilities.
Technical Responsibilities
- Plans, implements and maintains robust, secure infrastructure systems at all company locations worldwide.
- Plans and maintains reliable, scalable, and efficient systems to adhere to internal audit controls and customer requirements. Executes periodic testing of disaster recovery capabilities.
- Recommends technical solutions that will enhance performance, increase redundancy, simplify processes and add flexibility to the existing infrastructure
- Monitors and analyzes system utilization, ensuring proper performance tuning and guaranteeing appropriate service levels to the user community.
- Applies project management methodologies to oversee all phases of assigned projects, including the design, development, and implementation while balancing cost, quality, and time.
- Participates in research, design, evaluation, and recommendation for the hardware, software and technologies based on factors such as cost-effectiveness, existing capacity and integration with the desired environment
Knowledge Areas
- Strong in Hyperconverged infrastructure (vSAN, vCenter, vROPs, NSX & Horizon), various SAN vendors, Kubernetes and automation tools (cloud and on-premise)
- Microsoft Operating System, Active Directory, SCCM, SCOM, SQL, Office 365, Intune, Azure and Oracle Database
Project Management
- Plans, manages and execute IT infrastructure projects and assigned projects
- Ensures project resources are completing tasks on schedule and within budget
- Reports progress and closure of project activities
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or above in Computer Science
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, VCP, VCAP, ITIL or similar experience
- 10 or more years experience in IT Infrastructure as an individual contributor
