JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The SAP Basis Administrator will install, configure, and maintain SAP software systems as part of the newly formed IT Team in our Penang, Malaysia facility. In this role, the SAP Basis Administrators work full-time to configure systems, set up needed accounts, and make sure that the entire SAP landscape maintains optimal performance. Persons who are detail-oriented and like working in a fast-paced, demanding team environment will thrive in this role. Successful SAP Basis administrators need strong technical understanding and a desire to continuously learn and master new technologies
Responsibilities
- Perform setup/configuration, object transports, troubleshooting, error handling, performance tuning, and problem resolution.
- Plan, prepare and install SAP Software and Applications on company servers
- Manage end to end resolution of SAP Technical Incidents and determine Root Cause
- Closely collaborate with client’s Cloud Hosting and 3rd party vendors supporting Infrastructure and other systems connecting to SAP
- Recommend SAP Basis best practices in the areas of SAP Technical configurations and performance tuning
- Create and manage SAP user accounts. Also responsible for generating and managing SAP Security roles and profiles.
- Monitor the security of the SAP systems by carefully watching for any security breaches or breakdowns.
- Monitor and oversee backups and restorations of SAP file systems by Cloud Hosting Provider
- Ensure efficient usage of SAP Basis software, hardware, operating system and databases
- Execute Transport and Correction procedural standards complying with Change Control Board’s requirements.
- Help to coordinate and test disaster recovery for SAP servers
- Schedule, monitor, and manage background jobs in the SAP Servers
- Adhere to technical standards on the use of SAP Solution Manager
- Handle SAP buffer management, SAP system tuning and performance monitoring proficiently.
- Ensure SAP software consistency by working with other Cloud Hosting Basis leads.
- Execute client strategies as per established SAP Basis best practices
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with the US team members on initiatives
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SAP Basis
- Knowledge and experience in Basis HANA a plus
- Fluency in English and good communication skills
- Act as a go-to technical resource for multiple groups and teams, such as IT business analysts, customers, and developers, so good interpersonal skills are a must
- Extensive knowledge of SAP Administration from a technical configuration and performance tuning standpoint
- Conduct tasks remotely
- Global support experience
- A key area of responsibility is to document SAP processes, procedures, and plans, including changes, upgrades, and new services
- Experience with working within a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
