JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Responsible for the management and results of the production department and to lead activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications to the satisfaction of customers. You are also required to closely coordinate with the tooling and engineering department.
Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate and supervise production, continuous improvement, maintenance, warehouse, packing, blending, and all activities related to production.
- Manages the above departments and sets objectives for these departments.
- Prepares plans and proposals for investment in capital equipment and machinery.
- Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labour, and equipment are used efficiently to meet production output and targets.
- Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Review operations and confer with maintenance staff to resolve production or processing problems. Responsible for entire factory maintenance which includes machinery maintenance and improvement, modifications for improved reliability and productivity and setting up of new production lines for new products.
- Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to material use, processes, technological advances and statistical studies. Work with HQ and GmbH on these topics.
- Work with Contract Worker Managers to hire, train, evaluate and discharge operators or staff and resolve personnel grievances
- Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs
- Prepare and maintain production reports and records once a month to MD.
- Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control (on the production side), maintenance, and other operational reports to detect production problems.
- Institute employees’ suggestions or involvement programs.
- Perform any other related lawful duties that may be given by the management from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with no less than 5 years of related experiences in factory management
- Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others
- Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
- A people’s person – considerate and leadership ability
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Matured and good working attitude.
- Able to work independently, strong leadership, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignment simultaneously.
