JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
The Cloud Data Engineer will be part of the global delivery center within the IT organization. Your main responsibilities will include implementation support for bringing data into and processing it in the cloud, implementation and integration of data flows, and monitoring the enterprise data flow into the central data lake. You will collaborate with internal data scientists, data analysts, and data engineers as well as external resources to build scalable solutions for data acquisition, storage, and processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field like Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Operations Research, or Physics or relevant work experience
- Strong background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of relational databases (SQL) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
- Experience scaling production databases with query indexing, optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI
- Experience with Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, MS Azure, Linux/Unix, and Java
- Experience with agile methodology and project management
- Familiarity with analytics, optimization, and machine learning techniques
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-changing environments
- Fluency in English
