JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary 

This position will be responsible for driving continuous improvements and demonstrate success in new supplier sourcing, qualification and development as well as continuous improvement initiatives in quality, cost and productivity. You will also need to provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders and work with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes strategies for divisional SQE team and individual SQE to improve the performance of global suppliers, through operational excellence principles in the areas of quality, cost and delivery. 
  • Measures progress and identifies/takes the necessary actions when objectives, targets and/or goals are not met 
  • Ensures that supplier development activities are identified and initiated utilizing the corrective action process, and progress is monitored/measured through periodic meetings/quarterly scorecard reviews
  • Continuously improves our supplier quality infrastructure, including Supplier Scorecards, Performance Metrics, Audit checklists, etc. 
  • Drives the incorporation of these requirements into global systems and processes wherever possible 
  • Drives enhancements to global systems, processes and tools to support changing/evolving global needs/requirements
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops supplier quality team to improve competency in technical depth, business acumen, program management, product development methodology, and operating results.
  • Works cross-functionally with the ability to focus on the broader business issues over functional responsibility.
  • Responsible for ensuring suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and continuous improvement.
  • Works with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Manages root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues. Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
  • Reviews supplier manufacturing processes and collaborates with suppliers on process improvement and enhancement opportunities.
  • Promotes the use of techniques for continuous improvements, such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Error Proofing, Measurement System Analysis and FMEA.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a recognized degree in Engineering or other equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Quality and/or Supplier Quality. A least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in electronics component manufacturing, preferably semiconductor assembly process, including but not limited to wafer processing, PCB, Plating.
  • Experience in leading large, complex programs/projects successfully through demonstrated operating and performance results.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and material operations, preferably from direct work experience
  • Ability to motivate and inspire employees; exhibiting exemplary communication skills competencies
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members across the globe.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Good command of English and Mandarin.
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills.
  • Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision making.
  • Strong background in DOE and SPC. Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Ability to interact with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 manufacturing facility.
  • Self-motivated; able to take initiative and work with minimum supervision and direction.
