JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE

The position primarily supports the factory as Market's CA&C interface in key areas (Government Relations, Corporate Communications and Community Investment areas), to minimise commercial risk and maximise competitive opportunity for the factory through execution of approved strategies and programmes. At the same time, the role also includes support of Market's Government Relations, Corporate Communications and Community Investment agenda to ensure incumbent has holistic responsibilities in supporting both the market and factory to shape the operating environment and advance business objectives in Malaysia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Market's CA&C Interface in Factory

o Government Relations

Ø Responsible as the main government liaison officer for the factory - Eg. Takes lead to procure and facilitate meetings for local GSC management with key government stakeholders on policies and processes related to factory operations, Reviews all factory related submissions to authorities, Coordinator for all visits by authorities/external parties to the factory

Ø Provides support in government relations strategies and initiatives to advance factory's interests

Ø Develops and enhances professional relationship with key identified stakeholders

Ø Monitors and conducts detailed analysis of local legislative/regulatory policies that may potentially impact factory's operations.

o Corporate Communications

Ø Responsible to execute of all approved internal communications initiatives for the factory including managing communications channels, development (where required) and dissemination of corporate communications content/materials. Eg. Takes lead in day to day operations of INSIDE TV and support development of factory content, Responsible in making INSIDE Magazine visibly/widely available for factory employees

Ø Supports JTI Tobacco Employee Engagement Committee in communicating EHS and HR contents utilising most effective communications channel (notice boards/INSIDE TV).

o Community Investment

Ø Develops and leads execution of approved local CI initiatives for the factory.

§ Supports Market's Government Relations Agenda

Supports the Corporate Affairs Manager (HQ) in developing and executing government relations strategies and initiatives for the market as well as the factory as a whole.

§ Supports Market's Corporate Communications Agenda

Supports the Communications Manager (HQ) in executing market's identified internal communications initiatives to drive line of sight with relevant, regular and timely communication to employees. Eg. Monitor and provide readership analysis of INSIDE Online / submission analysis of IDEA, Main factory liaison to transmit market content via factory's INSIDE TV and development of GSC related content in market's INSIDE Magazine, review and translate (where necessary) communications collaterals for targeted audience.

§ Supports Market's Community Investment Agenda

Supports the Communications Manager (HQ) in community investment programmes by sustaining visibility and active participation amongst factory employees.

REQUIREMENTS

§ Degree in Communications / Political Science.

§ Minimum 2-4 years’ experience working in FMCGs (Public Affairs/Communications department) or Government agencies/departments.

§ Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Articulate and well-spoken.

§ Must be familiar with MS Office applications.
