JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of Main Responsibilities

The main interface for all project, engineering, and technical aspects in the product category of Surgical Gloves. Wholly responsible for the manufacturing process and equipment of a contract manufacturing model. Part of the team as a technical assessor on supplier selection, and is responsible for developing and/or qualifying a supplier. The main interface to the business unit on Surgical Gloves related topics. Ensure that all activities are executed and consistent with company policies, strategies, commitments and goals, and compliance guidelines. 

Responsibilities

  • The main interface and support to the Surgical Gloves business with the following key responsibilities – understand the business landscape and strategy, understand the technicalities of the product features and requirements, discuss and prioritize projects with the business unit, plan resources in order to execute business initiatives
  • Responsible for the engineering aspects of the manufacturing of Surgical Gloves which include but not limited to the following – process development and improvement, process validation, equipment, and problem-solving
  • A technical assessor to the supplier selection process and responsible for the process validation and enabling of manufacturing capability of suppliers
  • Be the main contact person for all technical and portfolio aspects of the Surgical Gloves product
  • Actively support 510(K) filing when required
  • Wholly responsible for Surgical Gloves project portfolio and engineering, and accountable to the business on the deliverables
  • Manage the expectation of key stakeholders, regularly report out on progress, and escalate risks and challenges timely
  • Lead a global cross-functional team to execute and manage initiatives which include but not limited to cost savings, process, technical and business-driven activities
  • Work with other functional leaders/peers/co-workers/team to resolve challenges and issues
  • Encourage teamwork and foster collaboration across functional departments and geographical locations
  • Ensure completeness of design control files and technical documents
  • Comply with and help to enforce company policies and procedures
  • Mentor and coach junior colleagues
  • Develop engineering processes and methodologies as appropriate to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to changing business models and corporate goals

Requirements

  • A degree holder with in-depth technical knowledge and relevant experience on Surgical Gloves – understand product features and requirements, manufacturing process and equipment, and challenges in the development and manufacturing of Surgical Gloves
  • Relevant experience in managing people, interfacing with business units, and managing engineering projects
  • Experience in design control and/or change control procedure, and process validation
  • Process improvement skill, ability to analyze and validate data, and being results oriented are key to success
  • Ability to write-up process validation protocols, interpret and understand technical or engineering documents and drawings
  • Ability to effectively lead a global cross-functional team and navigate in a complex matrix organization
  • Understanding of 510(K) filing and ISO13485 will be an added advantage
  • Proven experience in budget and resource management
  • Strong analytical and logical skills
  • Strong communication skill across all levels
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in managing confrontation and conflicts
