JOB DESCRIPTION
Job purpose
The Head of Studio is a leader who not only directs and manages a group of creative and technical personnel, but also serves as an advocate across the company, raising the bar for creativity and quality. This person is a skilled relationship builder with deep credentials and a talent for driving creative initiatives, as well as overseeing and helping deliver the kind of communications and strategic thinking that elevates the studio’s quality and efficiencies.
As a key collaborator, you know how to unite and motivate various departments towards a common goal.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage global annual operating budget consistent with the global strategic business plan
- Oversee a portfolio of products; works with Production Management and outside teams on review and approve all timeliness and ensure staffing resources are always available
- Develop and manage relationships within the studio and executives to ensure close collaboration, partnership, support, and efficient operations
- Provide strategy and planning for upcoming launches and updates to ensure production capabilities are understood and considered
- Participate in project kickoffs, content meetings, reviews and other project-based meetings as needed
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the internal team across all disciplines.
- Oversee performance management and career development for the team
- Actively participates in attracting top talent and employee retention
- Continually looks for ways to enhance productivity through process improvements, task automation and new technology
- Leads by example and participates in the cultural development and management
- Be aware of current technology and trends.
- Ensure all work produced is of the highest quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or computer graphics or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with at least 2 of those as a production executive and/or facility management
- Demonstrated experience and measurable success in production
- A strong leader with a proven ability to influence and motivate others at the executive and staff levels while being a team player and consensus builder
- Ability to communicate conceptual and strategic plans with executives across multiple business units and able to deliver the companies direction and objectives to a creative staff
- Proven ability to manage change, and multi-task with parallel or overlapping businesses and/or products
- High achievement in leading creative talent in a fast-paced production environment required.
- Must have successfully developed and managed people, resources and schedules
- Must have extensive knowledge of production, and operations
- Demonstrate exceptional organization, communication and management skills
- Demonstrate an ability to handle multiple demands, be flexible, maintain professionalism, and display finesse in a creative environment
- Must be self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver with a desire to build a uniquely creative environment.
