JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose
The ProCon Consultant is an integral and highly visible part of the Company’s ProCon Project Services delivery team that works on site to deliver the ProCon Contract Management solution to our clients. The ProCon Consultant is the lead consultant on implementations and is responsible for leading business design workshops, gathering requirements, analysing and designing a solution, and delivering the solution performing configuring, testing, training and support. They also have a key role in contributing to the growth of business within the region, providing outstanding consultancy and pre-sales support for the ProCon application.
Key Accountabilities
The role’s key responsibilities within the ProCon Professional Services Delivery team are:
- Lead business process discovery and design workshops with clients to capture functional requirements based on the definition of customer business processes and workflows.
- Author the functional specifications, capturing all the design decisions made throughout the discovery and design phase.
- Gathering reporting requirements and design, build and train of BI dashboards and reports using ProCon Dashboard Widgets and Analytics platform (e.g. using Power BI).
- Design Integration with other complementary enterprise solutions (e.g. Financial, Vendor, Cost, Document Management systems).
- Configure the ProCon application based on a documented functional specification that has been agreed with the Customer.
- Work directly with Customer Lead Users to optimise the configuration and use of the system.
- Manage the User Acceptance Testing Cycle through to completion and acceptance by the Customer.
- Train customer users on the effective use of the configured system.
- Identify opportunities to optimize customer business process and workflows using the ProCon solution.
- Work with the ProCon Customer Support Team to resolve customer queries requiring 2nd Line Support.
- Continuous development, updating and improving the ProCon Services delivery toolkit and blueprints.
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring to Professional Services consultants in all regions in the use of systems, tools, collateral, experiences and in professional services competencies.
Provide pre-sales support as required by line management: -
- Engaging with prospects to understand specific needs/problems and then devise appropriate solutions.
- Preparing and presenting proposals to solve specific prospect needs/problems.
- Planning, creating, organising and executing proof of concept presentations and demonstrations to prospects that prove the value of our solution to their specific needs/problems.
- Communicate the value proposition of our solutions to prospects at presentations, workshops, industry events and seminars.
- Planning, creating, developing and delivering demonstrations that present the value of our solutions.
Provide Product consultancy and support as required by line management: -
- Engaging with and supporting the ProCon Product team and clients with Requirements, Analysis, Design and consultancy relating to Product Improvements and Enhancement Requests.
Measures of Success
- Excellent understanding of the ProCon solution
- Compliance with the Company’s Methods.
- Full understanding of the Company’s ProCon delivery toolkit and key artifacts and supporting the updates to various artifacts.
- Successful implementation of a ProCon solution.
Essential Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience in a consulting role in implementing enterprise software solutions serving any of the following: -
- Oil and Gas, Mining, Power & Utilities, Infrastructure, Plant Owner Operators, EPC’s or other asset-intensive organisations.
- Experience and understanding of different contracting strategies, for example - EPC, EPCM, PMC, FIDIC, NEC3 etc…
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region and abroad to perform consultancy tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs/problems of prospective customers with little guidance.
- The ability to effectively manage and handle multiple and possibly competing commitments simultaneously.
- Experience in customer-facing skills and the ability to present product and solutions and delivering training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the full Contract lifecycle from Pre-Award to Post Award and execution of Contracts.
- Experience and knowledge working with Business Enterprise systems: ERP systems (SAP preferred), Project Cost Control systems, Contract Management systems, Document Management Systems.
- Experience and knowledge working with (BI) Business Intelligence analytics tools (e.g. Power BI)
- Project experience supporting systems integrations.
- Proven experience with technical proposals and the creation of proof of concept demonstrations.
- Extensive and proven experience and knowledge:
- In the Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities or Infrastructure industries
- Performing one of the following business functions:
§ Contracts and Procurement, Contract Management, Contract Administration, Operations Procurement
- Have either an owner-operator or EPC contractor background.
- Degree qualified or have a comparable professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability.

Key Working Relationships

- Professional Services: Work within a dynamic team and show flexibility in the use and development of personal and technical skills to maximize the team’s efficiency.
- Coaching and mentoring to Professional Services team.
