Senior Solution Consultant - Solution Specialist, ERM for Marine

Reports to:

Head of Business Consulting

Job Purpose

The primary objectives of the Solution Specialist, (SSC) will be to support OUR CLIENT Sales and Pre-sales in capturing new business for the solution(s), but also to help creating internal material for demonstrations and implementation. This will involve

–  Planning, developing and delivering business case presentations and demonstrations of solution(s)

–  Provide high level consultancy to customers around architecture, business processes and optimal use of solution(s)

–  Assisting in preparing proposals for the solution(s)

–  Creating templates for most efficient implementation of solution(s)

–  Engaging with customers / prospects to understand specific, complex business case requirements and devise appropriate solutions.

–  Working with relevant OUR CLIENT stakeholders (Solution Delivery, Product Development) to prepare business case proposals and manage the business capture process

–  Working directly with client teams to devise initial solutions using OUR CLIENT and other technology offerings, ensuring throughout that these solutions are workable and are in-line with OUR CLIENT’s strategic objectives and direction

–  Working with OUR CLIENT’s Solution Delivery organisation to ensure a seamless Scope of Work handover to implementation personnel

–  Providing support to the wider organisation to grow the business in general and ensure profitability

Dimensions

In this role you will work closely with colleagues from Sales, Pre-sales, Solution Specialists, Business Development and Solution Delivery to help capture new business. You will help generate sustainable growth for OUR CLIENT by using your expertise to promote and propose the solution(s). You will need to travel to clients, partners, prospects, OUR CLIENT offices etc. as part of this role.

Principal Accountabilities

–  Assist Sales, Pre-sales and Business Development teams to communicate and promote the value proposition of the solution(s) to targeted customers, prospects and partners.

–  Prepare responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal

–  Assist the Strategy and Marketing team to devise solution positioning and marketing approaches to the industries we serve, by drawing on industry knowledge, experience, business acumen and market awareness.

Important Working Relationships

In addition to maintaining strong working relationships with Business Capture colleagues, Sales, Pre-sales, Marketing and Business Development teams, the Solution Specialist will maintain a close working relationship with the Solutions Delivery organisation to ensure accurate communication of project requirements and client expectations. The role will require the ability to work with clients and partners at a senior level to further develop OUR CLIENT’s penetration into the targeted market.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

•  Experience with IT solutions and the business processes associated with the market*. 

•  A self-starter, able to work on your own initiative and capable of managing the various facets of the Business Capture process, from initial customer engagement through hand-over to the Solution Delivery team.

•  A confident presenter

•  A background in systems and system integration with a good understanding of the applications and data types used across the energy, oil and gas, and power industry sectors.

•  A positive and determined approach to supporting new business opportunities

•  Strong communication skills in all forms – written, oral, email, presentation

•  Experience in the business and work processes within the market *.
