JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an executive position responsible for the overall strategic, management and commercial oversight of the Malaysian businesses. It requires a high degree of commercial, sales and marketing leadership to develop and execute the business plan. A key focus will be on building the alliances, partnerships, direct & indirect sales of solutions and products across multiple industrial, mass IoT verticals in the market, with a focus on new business development and delivering complex end-to-end solution sales.

This is truly a leadership position with full P&L responsibility. It is fundamental to success in this role that you evangelise and grow our presence and improve our success in the market through superb new business and new product development and subsequent partnerships and account management. Key products will include Subscriptions to the SIGFOX Network, bespoke or off-the-shelf IoT devices and/or value-added IoT services.

Strong leadership and results are expected within the sales and marketing area while additional expectations for this role are contributions overall to oversight of the network deployment, ongoing network and customer service operations, to investment activities, governance, and commercial/legal and contract management areas, as well as consulting and lending expertise to the Board regarding strategic development across the region. Target customers will be end-customers, system integrators, and channel partners in relevant verticals within the territories.

Tasks & Activities you will be required to perform

  • Lead the development of the business and be the face of it to Malaysia
  • Lead the Executive Team and report to the Board in a timely manner.
  • Execute the initial strategic operating plan and take ownership of it and its execution over the next 3 years.
  • Recruit, manage and train the Sales, marketing and ecosystem team
  • Develop, manage and execute the sales pipeline including using Salesforce as a single source of truth for all customer acquisition activity. Close sales.
  • Manage the SIGFOX contracts
  • Formally close strategic alliances and relationships
  • Prospect, develop relationships with and manage new IoT Wireless customers, identifying specific opportunities, providing technical pre-sales assistance and ensuring complete and successful delivery of the project (including negotiating supply agreements as required)
  • Interface with Other IoT operators such as Thinxtra’s Marketing & Eco-system department to build and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of all relevant IoT products, solutions and services.
  • Provide recommendations and competitive market feedback to assist in shaping the IoT strategy and market pricing.
  • Develop relationships with device makers and design house across Malaysia and other Asia territories to guarantee SIGFOX comes to their mind first when designing new solutions for their own customers
  • Define specifications for new IoT products as per customer requirements, win projects and oversee the delivery of these products and their launch, be it via partners or as part of a Services end2end offering
  • Canvass and manage the market and industry engagement in Malaysia
  • Commercially manage key relationships in all spheres of our business.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

Proven track record of delivering outstanding performance as a General or Country Manager.

  • A P&L rack record of success in sales and business development
  • Proven experience at executive level
  • Wide range of skills relevant to IoT businesses including engineering experience or qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in selling and delivering complex and technical End-to-End solutions to customers
  • Solid technical knowledge, including wireless networking fundamentals
  • Negotiating ability
  • Outstanding presentation skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to travel interstate and intrastate as required
  • Able to understand, produce and work at a technically detailed level when needed.
  • Effective time management skills, self-motivated, and what to be a leader in IoT.
  • Excellent communication skills at different levels within an organization and across industries
