JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Objective
To ensure the activities of the Accounting and Control Department within Sibelco and Unichamp Malaysia, which cover Finance issues, are conducted in accordance with business unit’s strategy, plan and budget.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Financial & Budgeting Control
· Perform budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, review of pricing are in accordance with the group policies.
· Direct and implement cost effectiveness initiatives, which are in line with the company’s strategies and plans.
· Consolidate all proposed capital expenditures, prepare and submit capital budgeting to the Regional Office for approval.
· Plan, direct and monitor capital expenditure spending.
· Analyze all feasibility of business activities.
2. Reporting
· Direct and monitor timely and accurate reporting of financial reports for submission to the Regional Office.
· Carry out analysis of business unit’s financial performance, report and recommend appropriate action.
· Ensure all transaction is recorded in accordance with the recording of assets write-off/disposal is conducted appropriately.
· Ensure the appropriate protection (i.e. insurance) of assets by identifying and minimizing risks.
· Supervise / support plant accountants and back up costing executive.
· Inventory Management: work closely with Production department and validate book value is accordance with physical inventory volume on regular basis.
3. Fixed Assets Management
· Maintain fixed assets register list.
· Execute and ensure depreciation is properly run and captured.
· Conduct impairment analysis and review when necessary.
4. Management of Information System
· Ensure IT hardware and software are adequate for operations.
· Provide IT solution to operations requirement.
· Generate implementation design of Management Information System in line with Regional Office’s instruction and country’s needs.
5. Managing People
· Ensure implementation of core values in related functions.
· Manage subordinates’ task and responsibility allocation.
· Manage performance of subordinates.
· Identify and develop talents.
Job Requirements
Education:
Graduate in Economics, or any equivalent professional degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting, or any related disciplines.
Skills & Experience:
· 3 years of experience in managing Financial and Accounting Unit, preferably in a similar industry/business.
· SAP Experience.
