JOB DESCRIPTION

Job objective

Provide a specialist skill or support role to receive Incidents, investigate and coordinate resolution and recovery actions for assigned Incidents. Contribute to the execution of project(s) within his/her specific area of responsibility. Own the Network service in the region and maintain the availability and reliability of all related services to ensure that IT can effectively meet service targets in accordance with planned business objectives. 


Key responsibilities

IT Operations

  • Own all components within the network solution. Ensure all global and regional network standards are adhered to and maintained.
  • Provide Level 2 support to Incidents relating to Network services.
  • Analyze incidents to identify service restoration actions to be taken. Work with 3rd party/ other functional teams and takes incident resolution actions to restore service.
  • Escalate Incidents as necessary per established escalation policies.
  • Monitor the status and progress towards resolution of assigned Incidents. Keeping affected users/ business partners informed about progress.
  • Ensure network devices are operating properly and available for all Business Units. Ensure OneIM team member(s) coordinate installations, moves and repairs the network devise with 3rd party vendors where necessary.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and take prescribed actions on all operational events and alarms related to Network services.
  • Monitor the processing status of outstanding Service Requests and ensure service levels are not being breached for Network services.
IT Project Coordination

  • Work with Project Manager on definition of project requirements and priorities.
  • Produce functional/ technical documentation to agreed quality standards when requested.
  • Perform project tasks according to the functional/ technical expertise area.
  • Contribute to functional/ technical strategy, policy and procedure.
  • Work with project manager, project team members, 3rd party vendors and users to ensure the project meets business needs, completed timely and successfully.
  • Conduct user training where necessary.
  • Report on progress/ issues according to project structure
IT Procurement

Perform the following tasks if applicable:

  • Verify requests for Network product and services procurements.
  • Verify contracts for the suppliers and coordinate contract approvals.
  • Monitor for delivery of contracted services within budget and time constraint guidelines.
  • Verify vendor quality (i.e. product quality, service quality and etc).
  • Verify procurement requests against available budgets.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and terms of conditions.
  • Communicate status of procurement activities.

IT Asset and License Management

  • Track all Network assets and their locations.
  • Ensure OneIM team perform asset disposal tasks in line with corporate asset policies.
  • Perform periodic Network asset discovery and audit tasks.
  • Coordinate asset setup and tear-down activities when requested.
People Management
  • Provide coaching, training and knowledge sharing to junior team members/ peers.
  • Monitor team members' participation to ensure the training provided is being put into use.
HSE Management
  • Accept overall accountability for achieving designated HSE objectives and targets and improve the responsibility of all employees within the department.
  • Ensure effective use of the business unit's HSE standard and raise awareness.


Education and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in IT or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • IT project implementation experience (min 2 full cycles).
  • Additional specialised education in IT technologies and best practices is an asset eg. ITIL, PMP/Prince2, CCNA

Technical and Functional Skillsets:

  • Balanced level of understanding and working experience in the following areas would be advantageous - WAN, LAN, WLAN, Video Conference, IP Telephony, Traffic optimization and prioritization technologies
  • Ability and experience working in complex geographically dispersed multinational companies

  • Ability to relate and map business processes to IT processes and identify areas that can be improved by leveraging on IT.
