JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Function as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the operations of the plant. Lead the financial staff at the plant and be accountable for plant  level  responsibilities including cost accounting, business analysis and financial reporting. Will also liaise with Head Office Financial staff, as required.

JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS

4 to 5 (at most) data and statistics  that characterize  the  results, means and activities upon which this position has a direct or indirect influence: turnover, gross  margin, budgets,  tonnage,  number  of  employees  supervised/managed,  number  of  customers/accounts, geographical area(s) covered, etc.

KEY  TASKS AND  RESPONSIBILITIES

In charge of plant costs timely analysis

-  In depth analysis and control of all cost components, among which Cost of mining and crushing (mining, contractors, mass balance understanding, external buy-in) Cost of production by group of finished product and all their components

-  In charge of cost allocation accuracy

-  Determination of standard costs by product

-  Responsible  for clear, concise and accurate costs variance analysis, among which regarding OpEx initiatives

Leading internal process compliance and worflows optimization

-  Ensure stock value accuracy; Lead regular stockcounting and cause route analysis;

-   Monitor the appliance of the main contracts (mining contractors, capex project, freights, external chips / lumps …)

-    Work towards  internal  process  and  ERP  usage  optimization in  finance  and  other support   departments  (purchasing, warehousing, logistic, …)

Key contributor to the accounts closing process and other finance obligations

-  Timely analysis and accurately report current month’s costs and plant financial results and manufacturing variances

-  Integral and active team member in preparation of Monthly Closing, Forecasts and Annual Budget, under the supervision of the BU financial controller, ensuring a strict compliance of Ipoh site with the pre-defined deadlines

-  Ensure  compliance of  transactions  and  bookkeeping with accounting  rules  and  Our Client internal  practices  (fixed  assets control, mining costs, … etc)

-  Receive visits of external and internal audits

Strong sense of ownership and financial leadership for Ipoh plant,  working in close relationship with Operations managers

-  Capex management to ensure all capex budgeted and forecasted are spent as per the timeline

-  Provide support  to decision making for the plant managemet, with the ability to build concise and meaningful  financial projections

-  Attend monthly plant production meetings to discuss all plant issues

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1.  Candidate must  possess  at  least  a  Bachelor's Degree, Professional  Degree and  preferably  a  member of  any  professional accounting body (ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA/MIA)

2. At least 10 years of working experience in Finance & Accounting positions, ideally doing manufacturing cost accounting / factory controlling functions in a manufacturing background

3. Must have significant Product Costing experience
