JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal Accountabilities

Product Development and Process Design

  • Lead new product development from design to mass production (NPI), coordinating technical scheme formulation and DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) optimization.
  • Design manufacturing process routes, develop jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and automation production line solutions to ensure technical feasibility and mass production efficiency.
  • Resolve technical integration issues between R&D and production, such as prototype validation and pilot run problem closure.

Technology Development and Optimization

  • Promote manufacturing technology innovation (e.g., new materials, process improvements, automation upgrades) to reduce production costs and improve product yield.
  • Lead key process technology development (e.g., precision assembly, welding, injection molding), and establish standardized technical documents (SOPs, process parameter databases).
  • Assess new technology feasibility, promote technical reserves, and support patent layout.

Project Management and Resource Coordination

  • Formulate development project plans (schedule, budget, resources) and coordinate R&D, procurement, production, and other departments for collaborative advancement.
  • Monitor key project milestones (e.g., design freeze, trial production acceptance) to ensure on-time delivery meeting quality and cost targets.
  • Manage supplier technical interfaces, promoting outsourced parts development and mass production integration.

Cost and Efficiency Improvement

  • Optimize BOM costs and process flows (e.g., reducing steps, improving equipment utilization) to drive lean production and cost reduction.
  • Analyze manufacturing data (e.g., OEE, UPH), identify bottlenecks, and develop improvement plans.

Team and Capacity Building

  • Manage the development engineering team, set performance goals, provide technical guidance, and cultivate versatile technical talent.
  • Organize technical training and experience sharing to enhance team capabilities in advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., industrial AI).ppl-ai-file-upload.s3.amazonaws
