Responsibilities

• Review and analyse RFQs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Perform detailed cost estimations for sheet metal parts and assemblies, covering: raw materials, manufacturing processes, labour, tooling, fixtures, overhead, subcontracting, packaging, and transportation
• Analyse BOMs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and issue competitive quotations and technical proposals in coordination with sales and engineering.
• Compare multiple manufacturing options (e.g., in-house vs. outsourced) for customised or complex orders.
• Maintain and update pricing databases, standard templates, and cost models.
• Stay updated on market trends and pricing; possess strong familiarity with tooling and machining cost structures.
• Establish standardised quotation procedures and develop automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Interpret customer technical requirements and assess manufacturability.
• Suggest design or material alternatives to optimise cost and production feasibility.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure quotations align with production capabilities.
• Ensure operations comply with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry certifications (e.g., ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO14001).
• Take up any task or assignment from top management from time to time.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field

Minimum 5 years of work experience

• Proficient in mechanical drafting tools and CAD software.
• Solid knowledge of sheet metal products and New Product Introduction (NPI) procedures.
• Familiar with product technical specifications and characteristics.
• Strong ability in problem judgment, analysis, and resolution.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proven capability in process improvement and optimisation.
• Well-versed in ISO 9000 quality management system standards.

Familiar with office software, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Independent, self-driven and results-oriented.

Capable of preparing relevant technical documents and submitting related reports.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin, English and Malay.

Detail-focused, good sense of responsibility, and work proactively.

Ability to assign responsibilities to others as required and prioritise tasks.

Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details, as a minor error can result in major problems.
