Summary

The Operations Director will lead multiple large-scale utility projects within the group, totaling over RM 800 million, with a team of 45+ members. The role covers end-to-end project management, from development to COD, including managing land acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and contract negotiations. The Director will ensure seamless project execution, working with internal teams, clients, and government authorities, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

1.  Project Leadership & Strategic Execution:

·  Lead and manage utility-scale PV Solar Farm projects, from development through COD.

·  Provide strategic oversight for projects exceeding RM 800 million.

·  Secure Development Orders, Right of Way, and Project COD.

·  Coordinate with authorities like the Energy Commission, TNB, Grid Connection authorities, and local councils.

2.  EPCC Bidding & Contract Negotiation:

·  Participate in EPCC bidding processes and closing contracts for high-value projects.

·  Oversee project costing, ensuring alignment with business goals.

·  Support the business development team in contract negotiations and closure.

3.  Stakeholder Management:

·  Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and local authorities.

·  Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain smooth communication with TNB and other governing agencies.

4.  Budget & Timeline Management:

·  Manage project budgets, scope, and timelines, ensuring all are delivered on time, within cost, and to specified quality standards.

·  Implement procurement strategies to optimize efficiency and mitigate risks.

5.  Team Leadership & Talent Development:

·  Lead and mentor the utility projects team, fostering innovation and excellence.

·  Develop and expand the skills and capabilities of the team in line with business and project demands.

Requirements

·  15-20 years of experience in M&E construction, power industry, project/infrastructure development, or a related field.

·  Strong technical background in PV Solar, electrical power grid connections, MV, 132kV, 275kV, LILO step-up stations, TNB interconnection, civil and infrastructure development.

·  Proven track record of delivering projects with a total value exceeding RM 100 million.

·  Excellent leadership experience in managing teams of over 45 members and overseeing large-scale projects.

·  In-depth knowledge of EPCC bidding, project costing, and contract negotiations.

·  Experience with project delivery involving local government authorities, Energy Commission, and TNB.

·  Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.

·  Skilled in handling complex projects while maintaining profitability, quality, and safety.

·  Business-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results and overcoming challenges.

·  Ability to develop talent and expand team expertise for future growth.
