JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • To manage and track the customer return processes and to respond to and resolve the issues immediately.
  • To develop Quality Standards that are suitable to customer expectations, and to act as a bridge between the plant and the customer to ensure that our internal standards and quality process can meet or exceed the requirements of customers.
  • Initiate containment of stock at all locations and prevent further substandard production.
  • Control clean cut-offs and ensure the containment is managed while ongoing corrective actions are implemented.
  • Evaluate findings to formulate corrective action plans and coordinate the implementation through customer corrective reports or 8D reports.
  • Assist with new product introduction, representing the customer and managing pre-production trial runs and first-off sample approvals.
  • Organize and manage any re-work of finished goods that may be necessary.
  • Participate in customer factory inspections, audit problem tracking and improvement report processing.
  • Act as a window to customers on quality-related issues. Ensure no delay in response or feedback. 
  • Participate in customer quality agreement reviews.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; exceptional candidates without a degree will also be considered.
  • Preferably from the sheet metal industry.
  • At least three years of experience as a sample inspector in the mechanical industry, with relevant certifications being preferred.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical industry fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to collaborate with personnel from different departments and levels.
  • Meticulous work attitude and careful inspection skills, capable of handling complex inspection tasks and issues.
  • Proficient in using common office software and inspection equipment, with experience in automated inspection preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required by production demands.
